We’ve had a great summer. Didn’t we? Perhaps it’s not that hard to say goodbye to it because when you figure out what fall offers you’ll be nothing but captivating. Fresh air, golden leaves, and perfect plans like a weekend getaway at an A-frame cabin. Ahh… Sounds perfect! With each fall, it’s more and more apparent why such a cosy house design is so popular. You are immersed in nature with equilateral triangle ceilings, soaring windows, wood panelling, and lofted bedrooms. A-frame cabins are a great way to experience autumn, no matter where you are. Isn’t this a Mid-century aesthetic? After all, Instagram is buzzing with that, ‘aesthetics. Isn’t it?

And if we’re about to tell you that there is exactly such a cabin in Dharamshala that delivers the same experience, you’ll be amazed! Yes, you will. Previously famous between 1950 and 1975, the A-frame is on a serious comeback.

We are enamoured with a triangular shape, which looks so photogenic against any backdrop or the general design’s simplicity. There is a sense of nostalgia and modernity associated with A-frames today. These Cabins have been popular in foreign countries for a long time. However, the times are changing, and people are also beginning to build such Cabins in India.

It’s no coincidence that popular Instagram accounts featuring cabins and outdoor lifestyles often share photos of A-frames more than other cabins and houses probably because there are more heart-eyes on  A-frames.

What Cabin Stay?

Shady trees envelop the rustic A-frame tiny house/cabin in Dharamshala, which is yet unknown to many. Beautiful places should remain hidden, isn’t it what they say?

Who Owns the Property?

Well, Lakshit Sharma is the proud owner of this property. He has worked hard to design something that belongs in nature.

He’s a localite, has done his master’s in Tourism, and later went to Alaska for work. After four years, he realized he had to return to his roots. A year after his return to Dharamshala, he started his camping site, Black Swan Camps Mana. Mana is a small yet beautiful village in Dharamshala without any road connectivity. You have to trek for at least 2-3 hours. If you’re in Dharamshala and want to trek other than Triund, trust us nothing compares to Mana. They’ll arrange everything for you just need to walk and see the beautiful world around you.

Black Swan Camps – Mana, Dharamshala

It was in 2019 when he decided to open this beloved triangle.

“Working on this project was quite challenging, especially when it comes to making the angle of the roof, of course, but yes, good things take time, as they say. And the helpers I hired never had made such a thing before. We were committed to making this Cabin, and we were enjoying the process, and once it was done, I decided to run it to see what happens,” Lakshit says. “All of a sudden, it was booked solid.” In the end, I feel satisfied looking at the Cabin from outside. Nothing compares to the feeling of satisfaction with the result of your work!

He also added, my place is a much less explored destination and, in my opinion, that is a good thing, because some places are targeted at a specific audience.

The Cabin Dharamshala not only turns heads but affords its habitants the connection to nature we all crave. A-frames are incredibly adaptable and offer a closeness to nature and a simplistic style that isn’t easily matched by other construction types. Doesn’t it sound worth travelling? We certainly think so, and if this Cabin ticks off all the proper checkboxes in your travel checklist, too, you must book a stay here!

Celebrate life, relax and enjoy!
