1. Jogini Waterfall

Jogni Waterfall – Manali, Himachal Pradesh

Jogini Waterfall is a 160-foot cascade that falls over mountains and into Kullu Valley and the Beas River. The waterfall is situated near Vashisht Village in Manali, and it’s named after a village Goddess known as Jogini. In case you’re unfamiliar with Shakti Peethas, they are considered holy by Hindus. Hindu texts describe Shakti Peethas as places where Lord Shiva’s wife’s body fell. At Vashisht and Jogini falls, the water is said to be the dwelling place of the Goddess. Therefore, it’s crucial to respect the area surrounding it while you’re there.
It will take you approximately an hour to complete the trek and enjoy the beautiful views on top. You’ll be hiking through pine forests, streams, and apple orchards. The path isn’t flat and there are some steep hills and steps to reach it. Don’t leave it too late in the afternoon as you don’t want to be out here trekking in the dark.

On a clear day, you can see the white water flowing down the tiers of rocks, while at night, you can see the glow worms living in the moss and leaves below. It is a beautiful waterfall located just 1km from the highway in Sissu. It falls from a height of about 50 meters. The waterfall can be seen from the highway as well. However, the experience you shouldn’t miss is the walk to the waterfall’s base. It is believed that the water in the falls comes from glaciers in the Himalayas

This hidden waterfall is near one of the most beautiful destinations in Himachal Pradesh, Barot. The roads are straight, wide, and well maintained, except during the monsoon season. The views are equally beautiful. There are even points along the way at which you can stop to capture the view! Using Google Maps will help you up to a certain point, but then you’ll need to ask the locals about the fall. The scenes you’ll see upon entering Barot will take your breath away. Looking down, you’ll find a river flowing with green mountains nearby. 

If you have a vehicle, you can drive to Lapas Village and trek 1km to reach the waterfall. It is, however, much more difficult than the road to Barot. Alternatively, you can hike from the main road, just ask around where to begin. Once you reach the fall, it’s hard to do anything else besides stare at it for hours. We assure you, it’s far better than watching NETFLIX at home.

8. Gunehar Waterfall

The Gunehar Waterfall is the main attraction of Gunehar Village, which is about 1.5 kilometres away from Bir. 100 feet in height, the stunning waterfall is reachable from the village after a short trek and is sure to provide one of the most thrilling and enriching experiences of your life.
