Everything You Need to Know

Pin Bhaba Pass is defined by contrast: forest, pasture and river scenery on the Kinnaur side give way to the open, mineral-coloured landscape of Pin Valley. Himachal Tourism identifies Kafnu as the base for this demanding crossing and the state trekking portal lists Bhawa Pass at about 4,900 metres. River crossings, remote camps, loose descent and altitude make it a guided expedition for well-prepared trekkers. Transport must be coordinated at both Kafnu and the Spiti exit.

  • Camp through forest, pasture and alpine terrain

Best Time for the Pin Bhaba Pass Trek

July to September is the main crossover season after snow reduces on the pass. The Kinnaur side can still receive monsoon rain even when Spiti is drier, so rivers and slopes may be affected. September generally becomes colder. Keep buffer days for both the trail and long Spiti road journey.
